Remote Operation from a Touch Tone Phone

Setting the Remote Code

The remote code prevents unauthorized people from accessing your unit and listening to your messages. Choose any 3-digit number (000–999). The remote code is not preset.

Make sure that the power is ON (p. 13) and the unit is in the stand-by mode.

” is displayed on the handset.

P” is displayed on the base unit.

3Press 1 .

4Enter a remote code by using a 3-digit number (000–999).

The entered number is displayed on the base unit.

5Press .

A confirmation tone sounds.

To change the remote code, repeat from step1.

If 6 beeps sound in step 5, a 3-digit number was not enterd. Start again from step 1 and enter a 3-digit number.

If a remote code is not programmed, you cannot use the unit remotely.

Canceling the remote operation

You can prohibit anyone from accessing to your unit and listening to your recorded messages remotely. Erase the remote code in the following way. After this programming, you cannot use the remote operation functions (p. 43–44).
