where: [xl is a common SELCALL ID prefix of your group and,
[AJ is the CCIR Assigned Group Tone Code
example:
If one group comprises 10 members with SELCALL IDs.
ranging from
[1 J [2J [3J [4J [0], [1J [2J [3J [4J [1], [1 J [2J [3J [4J [2], [1 J [2J [3J [4J [3J,
to [1J [2J [3] [4J [9],
All in T.SQ mode at CH20.
If someone transmits [1J [2J [3J [4J [AJ on CH20, all of the above units will open their Tone Squelched Receiver.
Group Calls and ordinary SELCALLs can be differentiated in the following manner.
Group Call - Low tone beeps
Ordinary Selcall - High tone beeps
Note: Acknowledge tones will not be received when a Group Call code is transmit- ted. If all radios respond, acknowledge tones would only "litter" the channel with crisscrossing signals.
To use the Group CalJing Feature effectively, your RX SELCALL ID should be well arranged and assigned.
