Setting the Clock

Setting the Present Time

(To be performed when the unit is to be used for the first time)

Example: Setting the time to 1:15 PM (while the power is switched to STANDBY).

This unit uses a 12-hour clock to indicate the time.

1 Press the CLOCK/TIMER button.

• The time display is illuminated, and the “hour” indicators starts flashing.

(When the time is to be re-set, the present time will flash.)

2 Turn the MULTI JOG dial to change the hour display to “PM 1”, and then press the SET button.

The hour display stops flashing, and the minute display starts to flash.

If you made a mistake in entering the current time, repeat this procedure from the beginning.

If the CANCEL button is pressed while setting the “minute” display, the flashing “hour” display is restored. This function comes in handy for correcting the “hour” display.

To ascertain the correct time

In most areas, there is a telephone number you can call for the cor- rect time, consult your telephone directory for assiastance.

To change or adjust the time display

It is possible to change the time even after it has been set. Press the CLOCK/TIMER button repeatedly to select the time display, and set the time as described in the procedure on this page. The time can be adjusted even when the unit is in standby.

Regarding the time display

The time display for Canada and USA models uses a 12-hour clock.

Models for other countries use a 24-hour clock.

The illustrations in this Instruction Manual show the Canada and USA model. For users of other models, please note that “AM” and

“PM” indications will not be displayed as shown in this manual. Please refer to the illustrations below for differences in the two time display types.

Turn the MULTI JOG until

Press the SET button. “PM

“PM 1:00” is displayted.

1:00” is then displayted.

3 Turn the MULTI JOG dial to change the minute display to “15”, and then press the SET button.

“PM 1:15” is displayted.

1:15” is then displayted.

The current time “1:15” is displayed and the display window darkens.

The time display cannot be switched between the 12-hour and 24-hour clock display.
