Use the appropriate blade for material being cut: | |
Laminates - Use a fine tooth blade |

Wood - Use appropriate wood cutting blade for desired finish. | |
Metal - Use a finer blade for ferrous metals (for those that have a high iron content); and | |
use a coarser blade for nonferrous metals (those that do not have an iron content). | |
CAUTION: Do not touch used blades, they may be hot. Personal injury may result. | |
SMART SELECT DIAL (FIGURES D1, D2 & E) | |
The Smart Select Dial is used to control orbit, straight cut guide and handle positions of | |
the saw. |

The saw has two settings: |
|
1.) Straight cutting in wood (figure D1). |
|
In this cutting mode, the straight cutting | D1 |
guide is projected under the shoe and rides | |
in the sawʼs cutting path to keep the saw |
|
straight. |
|
Blade orbital action is on. |
|
NOTICE: Check alignment of straight cutting |
|
guide before each use. |

2.) Curved or straight cutting in all other | D2 |
materials (wood, metal, pvc, etc. (figure D2)) | |
In this mode, the guide is retracted and the |
|
blade orbital action is off. |

CHANGING THE SMART SELECT DIAL (FIGURE E)
WARNING: Turn off and unplug the tool
before making any adjustments or
removing/installing attachments orE accessories.
- To change the dial, grasp and turn as shown.
- As the dial is turned, the shoe position relative to the saw will adjust.
