Mounting Applications

Workbench

Mount the saw using either the four bolt holes (7/16”) 1 or the four nail holes 2 to the workbench. Check for clearance to the left and right of the saw (Figure 16).

1.Each of the four mounting holes should be bolted securely using 7/16” flat head screws, lock washers, and hex nuts (not included).

2.Locate and mark where the saw is to be mounted.

3.Drill four (4) 7/16” diameter holes through workbench.

4.Place the compound miter saw on the workbench aligning holes in base with holes drilled in workbench. Install screws, lock washers and hex nuts.

Supporting surface where saw is to be mounted should be examined carefully after mounting to insure that no movement can occur during use. If any tipping or walking is noted, secure the workbench or stand before operating the compound miter saw.

Portable Mounting Using Clamps

If necessary, clamp the compound miter saw to a workbench or table top.

Place two (2) or more “C” clamps 3 on the clamping areas and secure (Figure 17).

Portable Mounting Using 1x4’s

In order to avoid any twisting of the saw, the saw can be placed over 1x4’s mounted on a workbench.

The cast-in carry handle openings have ribs on the inside that are the same size as a 1x4. Center the miter saw openings over the 1x4 clamped or nailed 4 on a workbench for stability (Figure 18).

NOTE: The board does not slide completely through the opening. The saw must be placed over two (2) boards, one on each side.

3924-24, 3918 specifications

Bosch Power Tools has long been a leader in innovation and quality within the power tool industry, and its models 3918 and 3924-24 are prime examples of their commitment to performance and reliability. These tools are designed for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts, providing efficient solutions for a variety of tasks.

The Bosch 3918 is primarily a reciprocating saw that features a robust 6.5-amp motor, delivering impressive power for cutting through wood, metal, and other materials. One of its standout features is the tool-less blade change system, which allows users to switch blades quickly and easily without needing additional tools. This is not only time-saving but also enhances the user experience by minimizing downtime between cuts.

The saw also boasts a variable speed dial that can reach up to 2,700 strokes per minute, giving users optimal control over their cutting tasks. The pivoting shoe provides increased stability and allows for precise cuts in various applications. Additionally, the saw includes an electronic motor protection system, which helps prevent overheating and extends the lifespan of the tool.

On the other hand, the Bosch 3924-24 is a powerful angle grinder. With a 6.0-amp motor, it delivers high performance while being compact and lightweight. The grinder comes with a soft grip handle, making it comfortable for extended use. Its one-touch guard allows users to adjust the guard without any tools, thus enhancing convenience during operations.

This model is equipped with a direct-drive motor that increases torque and ensures that it works efficiently under load. The 3924-24's efficient dust management system minimizes dust and debris, providing a cleaner workspace and improving visibility during operations. Additionally, the grinder features a two-position side handle for added control and stability, making it suitable for a variety of grinding, cutting, and polishing applications.

Both Bosch Power Tools models, 3918 and 3924-24, exemplify the brand's commitment to quality, safety, and user ergonomics. Their advanced features, robust construction, and innovative technologies make them indispensable tools for any serious craftsman or home improvement enthusiast.
