Body and Hand Position

! WARNING Position your body and hands properly to make cutting easier and safer. Observe

the following instructions (Figure 17A, B, C, & D).

Never place hands near cutting area. Keep hands outside the “No Hands Zone”. The “No Hands Zone” is defined as the area between marked lines on the left and right side of the Base, including the entire Table and portion of the Fence within these marked lines. This zone is labeled by “No Hands” symbols placed just inside the marked lines on the Base.

The tool can be activated with either hand, but no matter

which hand you use to activate the switch, never cross hands as shown in (Figure 17D).

Hold workpiece firmly to the fence to prevent movement.

• Keep hands in position until trigger has been released and blade has stopped completely.

• Keep feet firmly on the floor and maintain proper balance.

Follow the miter arm when mitering left or right. Stand slightly to the side of the saw blade.

Sight through the lower guard if following a pencil line.

Before making any cut, with the power off, lower the blade to preview the blade path.

The lower guard may not automatically

!WARNING open under certain cutting conditions. If this occurs:

Typically this may occur when trying to cut workpieces that are near the maximum cutting height capacity. Under these conditions, the workpiece can stop the lower guard movement before the downward motion of the arm could preopen the lower guard. If this occurs:

Workpiece must be securely clamped. This frees your left

hand to raise the guard 1 by the lip 2 just enough to clear the workpiece (Figure 18).

Start the saw and begin your cut.

Once you have cleared the position where the lower guard may bind, release the guard and it will continue to

raise automatically as you cut.

These tools are designed for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts, providing efficient solutions for a variety of tasks.

The Bosch 3918 is primarily a reciprocating saw that features a robust 6.5-amp motor, delivering impressive power for cutting through wood, metal, and other materials. One of its standout features is the tool-less blade change system, which allows users to switch blades quickly and easily without needing additional tools. This is not only time-saving but also enhances the user experience by minimizing downtime between cuts.

The saw also boasts a variable speed dial that can reach up to 2,700 strokes per minute, giving users optimal control over their cutting tasks. The pivoting shoe provides increased stability and allows for precise cuts in various applications. Additionally, the saw includes an electronic motor protection system, which helps prevent overheating and extends the lifespan of the tool.

On the other hand, the Bosch 3924-24 is a powerful angle grinder. With a 6.0-amp motor, it delivers high performance while being compact and lightweight. The grinder comes with a soft grip handle, making it comfortable for extended use. Its one-touch guard allows users to adjust the guard without any tools, thus enhancing convenience during operations.

This model is equipped with a direct-drive motor that increases torque and ensures that it works efficiently under load. The 3924-24's efficient dust management system minimizes dust and debris, providing a cleaner workspace and improving visibility during operations. Additionally, the grinder features a two-position side handle for added control and stability, making it suitable for a variety of grinding, cutting, and polishing applications.

Both Bosch Power Tools models, 3918 and 3924-24, exemplify the brand's commitment to quality, safety, and user ergonomics. Their advanced features, robust construction, and innovative technologies make them indispensable tools for any serious craftsman or home improvement enthusiast.
