When planing wood 3/4 in, thick and NARROWER than

i block so that it ctears the top of the cutterguard while feed ng.

Never plane wood that is thinner than 1/2 in .... because

it is apt to split or shatter and thus has a greater tenden- cy tO kickbacki

Adjust

the

fence

to the desired

angle ...tighten

fence

and guard lock knobs,

 

 

 

Follow

the

same

procedure

for jointing

or

planing.

NOTE: Removing only the corner on the edge of a board is known as CHAMFERING.

Normally a chamfer is made with one cut.,, therefore, acut deePer than 1/16 in. may be made.

Use hold down/push blocks for wood under 3 in. wide. PositiOn them so you have control of the workpiece at all times: and so they do not contact the guard or the cutter head,
