SSM—Server Status Monitor
The Server Status Monitor (SSM) is a service present on all nodes. Each node on the grid has its own SSM to monitor that node’s status, ser- vices, and the system log. It monitors the condition of the node and related hardware, polls the server and hardware drivers for informa- tion, and displays the processed data via the NMS interface.
The information monitored includes:
•CPU information (type, mode, speed)
•Memory information (available, used)
•Performance (system load, load average, uptime, restarts)
•Volumes (status, available space)
SSM Attributes
The SSM supports the standard set of service attributes for state, status, and Node Information only. System Status is replaced with a section on Server Status.
