Mains socket

The mains lead supplied with the system should be connected to this socket. Mains power is fed to the systemthroughthislead.

The mains voltage and mains frequency for this equipment are stated on the back panel below the mains socket.

The machine must never be connected to any other form of power supply.

Themainsleadmustbedeployedinsuchawaythat

thereisnodangerofdamagetoit,e.g.byfurnit ureor bypersonstreadingonit.

M LINK

The M LINKconnectionisthecentralcontrolandpower supplysystemforall Msystemmachines.

Itis adigitalbus system usedbytheindividual c

om

 

ponents to exchange information (control commands,

 

screen information). The extremely powerful SHC

 

mainspowersupplyofthe

PA 820 Malsoprovidesthe

 

currentrequiredbyalltheothermachinesinthes

ys

 

tem,andsuppliesitviathe

M LINK.

 

 

All the voltages required are stabilised and filter

ed a

secondtimewithintheindividualsystemcomponents

,

usingsophisticatedelectronicregulatorycircuits.

 

 

The SHC ( Symmetrical

High Current) mains power

 

supplydelivers currents ofup to 40 Amps, and at a

ll

timesmaintainsmorethanadequatereservesofpowe

r

forallareasofsignalprocessingandcontrol. It

offers

significantly superior characteristics compared to individual,lowerratedpowersupplies.

Movingthemainstransformersawayfromthesensiti

ve

source devices and preamplifiers is the key to the

 

excellent signal : noise ratios which are a feature

of

Mseriescomponents.

 

Theearthsystemsoftheanalogueaudiosignalstag

es

are completely separate from those of the digital

systems,whichvirtuallyeliminatesmutualinterfer

ence

andotheradverseeffects.

 

LINE IN

Power amplifier input for connection to the

If your system includes a DD 820 M surround decoder,

theseinputsshouldbeconnectedtothesocketsmar

ked

PA on the DD 820 M (see wiring diagram in

the

DD 820 M operatinginstructions).

 

SUB - LINK

Subwoofer signal socket for surround mode (only if

the

systemincludesa DD 820 M).

 

SUBW OUT

Two output sockets for connecting a subwoofer usin

g

Cinch cables, or a subwoofer using an 8pin DIN

 

socket( SC LINK).
