Before You Call

Solutions to Common Problems

Before you callforservice, review this list. It may save you time and expense. The list includes common occurrences that are not the result of defective workmanship or materials in this appliance.

Range is not level.

Poor installation.

Place oven rack in center of oven. Place a level on the oven rack. Adjust

leveling legs at base of range until the oven rack is level.

Be sure floor is level and is strong and stable enough to adequately support range.

If floor is sagging or sloping, contact a carpenter to correct the situation.

Kitchen cabinet alignment may make range appear unlevel. Be sure cabinets are square and have sufficient room for range clearance.

Cannot move appliance easily. Appliance must be accessible for service,

Cabinets not square or are built in too tightly. Contact builder or installer to make appliance accessible.

Carpet interferes with range. Provide sufficient space so range can be lifted over carpet.

Oven control beeps and displays any F code error (for example Fll).

Surface burners do not light.

Surface burner flame burns half way around.

Surface burner flame is orange.

Oven does not operate.

Entire appliance does not operate.

Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press STOP to clear the display and stop beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number. Press STOP and call I=8O0=4=MY=HOME® for assistance (See back cover).

Burner ports are clogged. With the burners OFF, use a small-gauge wire or needle to clean ports. See Cleaning the Cooktop, Burner Caps, Burner Heads & Grates in the General Care & Cleaning section for complete instructions.

Range power cord is disconnected from outlet (electric ignition models only). Be sure cord is securely plugged into the outlet.

Electrical power outage (electric ignition models only). Burners can be lit manually. See Setting Surface Controls.

Burner ports are clogged. With the burner OFF, clean ports by using a small-gauge wire or needle.

Moisture is present after cleaning. Lightly fan the flame and allow burner to operate until flame is full. Dry the burners thoroughly and follow instructions under Cleaning the Cooktop, Burner Caps, Burner Heads & Grates in the General Care & Cleaning section.

Dust particles in main line. Allow the burner to operate a few minutes until flame turns blue.

In coastal areas, a slightly orange flame is unavoidable due to salt air.

No electrical power to the appliance. See steps under Entire Appliance Does Not Operate in the Before You Call section.

Be sure the oven controls are set correctly for the desired function. See Setting Oven Controls or Entire Appliance Does Not Operate (see below).

Make sure power cord/plug is plugged correctly into outlet. Check household circuit breakers.

Service wiring is not complete. Call I=800=4=MY=HOME® for assistance (See back cover).

 

Power outage. Check house lights to be sure. Call your local electric company for service.

Oven light or lights do not work.

Burned-out or loose bulb. See Changing the Oven Lights in the General Care &
