This chapter explains how to install the ANA-5910/5930/5940
adapter and how to connect ATM cables.
To install the adapter in a computer:
1Turn OFF the computer and any attached devices, and
disconnect all power cords.
2Detach all cables from the back of the computer.
3Remove the cover from the computer case. Refer to your
computer user documentation for instructions.
Caution: To avoid possible damage to the a da pter or
any computer components, touch the met al part of th e
computer’s power supply to discharge any static
electricity from your clothes and body. (Use a wrist
grounding strap if you have one.)
4Locate an available PCI slot, and remove the slot cover, as
shown in Figure 3-1. (Refer to the computer user
documentation for more inf ormation.)
The PCI slot must support bus mastering and conform to PCI
Rev. 2.0 or higher specificati ons. If the slot does not meet PCI
Rev 2.0 specifications, dedicate an IRQ channel to th e slot and
specify level triggering for the sl ot.
