10.7 PnP/PCI Configuration
PnP/PCI Configuration allows you to modify the system’s power saving
functions.
Run the PnP/PCI Configuration as follows:
1. Choose“PnP/PCI Configuration”from the Main Menu and a list of
options will appear.
2. Use one of the arrow keys to move between options and modify the
selected options by using PgUp / PgDn / + / - keys.
PNP OS Installed
Select Yes if the system operating environment is Plug-and-Play aware
(e.g. Windows 95).
Reset Configuration Data
Normally, you leave this Disabled. Select Enabled to reset Extended Sys-
tem Configuration Data (ESCD), when you exit Setup if you have
installed a new add-on and the system reconfiguration has caused such a
serious conflict that the operating system cannot boot.
Resource Controlled By
The Plug and Play Award BIOS can automatically configure all the boot
and Plug and Play-compatible devices. If you select Auto, all the interrupt
request (IRQ) and DMA assignment fields disappear, as the BIOS auto-
matically assigns them.
Note: BIOS will automatically disable all PnP resources
except the boot device card when you select Yes
on Non-PnP operating system.
