Handling Security Issues
APWeb’s system security limits access to the site. The security setup is explained on page 71. We recommend that the following security measures be followed:
Leave system security turned on (the default setting). Place the APWeb server site inside your network firewall.
Set the account profiles as part of the initial setup (see page 71). Deploy APWeb in a secure LAN environment.
If extra precaution is necessary, lock the enclosure(s) in a secure location.
Caution: Even if the site security is turned on, the BCS tunnel is not authenticated. We strongly recommend that this service be turned off when not in use (see page 74).
Turning System Security Off
The option to turn system security on and off is on the Account Profile / Site Security page (accessed by clicking the Authentication button on the Administration page).
To turn system security off:
1.From any page in the site, click the Administration link.
2.Under Account Profile / Site Security, click Authentication. The Account Profile / Site Security page opens.
3.Under Disable Site Security, enter the Admin user name and password (Admin default – super and super).
4.Click Turn Security Off. System security is turned off.
To turn system security back on:
1.Repeat Steps 1 through 3 above.
2.Click Turn Security On. System security is turned on.
