236 Using Other Applications

To use Voice Command with a Bluetooth headset

1.Make sure that both your device and the Bluetooth headset are turned on, set to visible mode, and a bluetooth partnership is created. See “Connect a Bluetooth hands-free or stereo headset” in Chapter 11 for details.

2.You can then activate Voice Command from your Bluetooth headset by pressing the VOICE DIAL button on the Bluetooth headset.

14.2Java Applications

MIDlets are Java applications such as games and tools that can run on mobile devices, while a MIDlet suite is a collection of one or more MIDlets. The Java Applications program lets you download, install and manage MIDlets or MIDlet suites on your device. Your device supports Java 2 Micro Edition, J2ME.

To open the Java program

•Tap Start > Programs > Java Applications.

Install and launch MIDlets/MIDlet suites

There are several ways to install a MIDlet/MIDlet suite.

To download and install from a URL address

1.Tap Menu > Install > URL.

2.Tap Menu > Add.

3.Enter a descriptive name for the web page.

4.Enter the URL address from where to download. The web page must contain links to .jad or .jar ﬁles.

5.Tap OK. The name of the web page you speciﬁed will then be listed on the screen.

6.Tap the name of the web page, or tap Go.

7.The program will then retrieve the links and display the ﬁle names of MIDlets/MIDlet suites. Select a ﬁle name then tap Install.
