1.SAFETY
• Ensure that nothing can be spilled on, or droppe d inside the projector. If this does happen, switch of f and unplug the
mains supply immediately. Do not operate the projecto r again until it has been checked by qualified ser vice personnel.
• Do not block the projector cooling fans or fre e air movement around the projector. Loose papers or ot her objects may not
be nearer to the projector than 30 cm (12") on any side.
• Do not use this equipment near water.
• Special care for Laser Beams:Speci al care should be used when DLP projectors a re used in the same room as high power
laser equipment. Direct or indirect h itting of a laser beam on to the lens can severely damage t he Digital Mirror Devices
TM in which case there is a loss of warranty.
• Never place the projector in direct sun light. Sun l ight on the lens can severely damage the Digital M irror Devices TM in
which case there is a loss of warranty.
• Save the original shipping carton and p acking material. They will come in handy if you ever have to shi p your equipment.
For maximum protection, repack your set as it was o riginally packed at the factory.
• Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid c leaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth
for cleaning. Never use strong solvents, such as th inner or benzine, or abrasive cleaners, since th ese will damage the
cabinet. Stubborn stains may be removed with a clot h lightly dampened with mild detergent solution .
• To ensure the highest optical performance and reso lution, the projection lenses are specia lly treated with an anti-
reflective coating, therefore, avoid touching the lens. To remove dust o n the lens, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use a da mp
cloth, detergent solution, or thinner.
• Rated maximum ambient temperature, t a= 40 °C (104 °F).
• The lamp house shall be replaced if it has become da maged or thermally deformed.

On servicing

• Do not attempt to service this product yoursel f, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous vol tage
potentials and risk of electric shock.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service p ersonnel.
• Attempts to alter the factory-set internal controls o r to change other control settings not specially d iscussed in this manual
can lead to permanent damage to the projector and c ancellation of the warranty.
• Unplug this product from the wall outlet a nd refer servicing to qualified service tech nicians under the following conditions:
- When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
- If liquid has been spilled into the equipment .
- If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
- If the product does not operate normally w hen the operating instructions are fol lowed. Adjust only those controls that
are covered by the operating instructions since im proper adjustment of the other controls may result in dama ge and will
often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to normal operation.
- If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
- If the product exhibits a distinct c hange in performance, indicating a nee d for service.
• Replacement parts: When replacement part s are required, be sure the service technician h as used original Barco
replacement parts or authorized replacement p arts which have the same character istics as the Barco original part.
Unauthorized substitu- tions may result in deg raded performance and reliabilit y, fire, electric shock or other hazards.
Unauthorized substitutions may void warranty.
• Safety check: Upon completion of any ser vice or repairs to this projector, ask the service techn ician to perform safety
checks to determine that the product is in pro per operating condition.
• Possible explosion hazard: Always keep in mind th e caution below:
CAUTION: Do not touch a lamp during operation and right after i t is turned off as it is extremely hot. Lamp
contains mercury. It's brokeage might cause mercur y or broken glass pieces to folow out of lamp housing.
To avoid exposure the risk of mercury poisoning. D on't drop, hit, force or scratch while handing a lamp.

To prevent battery explosion

• Danger of explosion if battery is incorrec tly installed.
• Replace only with the same or equivalent t ype recommended by the manufacturer.
• For disposal of used batteries, always consult fe deral, state, local and provincial hazardous wa ste disposal rules and
regulations to ensure proper disposal.
