SMS - Short Message Service

Using this function it is possible to send other subscribers messages up to 160 characters in length, even if the recipient’s cellular phone is not switched on or a call cannot be put through at the present time.

The text is stored temporarily in the network until the recipient retrieves his messages or the time limit set by the sender has expired.
