ELAN Name (Modifiable)

This field is used to enter the name of the discovery ELAN that the HSIM-A6DP will join, when the discovery ELAN becomes enabled.

Mode (Toggle)

This field toggles between “Master” and “Slave”. This field currently does not have any effect on the discovery ELAN, and any saved changes will not affect network performance.

Status (Toggle)

This field toggles between Enabled and Disabled. The Status field is used to direct the HSIM-A6DP to either join the specified discovery ELAN (Enabled), or disconnect from the specified discovery ELAN (Disabled).

SAVE

This command saves all changes to memory.

PREV

This command opens the previous screen of discovery ELANs. To perform the command, use the arrow keys to highlight the PREV command and press ENTER. The previous screen of discovery ELANs displays.

NEXT

This command opens the next screen of discovery ELANs. To perform the command, use the arrow keys to highlight the NEXT command and press ENTER. The next screen of discovery ELANs displays.

3.16.2 Assigning the HSIM-A6DP to a discovery ELAN

To assign the HSIM-A6DP to an ELAN, perform the following steps:

1.Use the arrow keys to highlight the ELAN Name field.

2.Enter the name of the ELAN to which the HSIM-A6DP will connect.

NOTE

The name entered in the ELAN Name filed MUST be a valid name of an ELAN that is already active on the network if the Status field will be set toEnabled.
