A.6 APIM-67 SPECIFICATIONS

The APIM-67R does not use Cell Payload Scrambling.

!Scrambling must be disabled on any DS3 device connected to CAUTION the APIM-67R.

The APIM-67 conforms to the electrical characteristics speciﬁed by ANSI T1.404-1989 Carrier-to-CustomerInstallation-DS3 Metallic Interface Speciﬁcation, Section 5.12 Grounding Arrangements. In accordance with this speciﬁcation, each channel (Transmit and Receive) must be grounded at one end.

Cabletron Systems ships the APIM-67R with the following default jumper settings:

•Receive channel jumper - grounded

•Transmit channel jumper - not grounded

Figure A-6shows the location and default setting of each jumper. Refer to Figure A-6if you need to change the jumper settings to properly connect the APIM-67R to another DS3 device.
