Advanced Functions

Recording in y(Manual) Mode

When the mode switch is set to y (Manual mode), you can enjoy full access to the menus and manually adjust the exposure, focus, white balance and many more of the camcorder’s settings to your prefer-

ence. Even in Recording in y(Manual) Mode mode, though, the camcorder can help you with the settings. For example, by using Special Scene recording programs (078).

By default, movies and photos are recorded in the built-in memory

(Manual background only) or on memory card X(Manual background). You can select the mem- ory that will be used to record movies and photos (036).

Please read the IMPORTANT section before using an Eye-Fi card.

1 Set the mode switch to y.

2 Turn on the camcorder.

3 Record movies and photos.

The procedure is the same as in Manual background mode (040).

Manual background IMPORTANT

Observe the following precautions while the ACCESS indicator is on or flashing. Failing to do so may result in permanent data loss or damage to the memory.

-Do not open the double memory card slot cover.

-Do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder.

-Do not change the camcorder’s operating mode.
