Turning the Power On

Turn the main dial left or right from the

position.

 

• The power is off when the main dial is set to

 

the

position, and on in any other positions.

You will hear a startup sound and see the startup window when the power comes on, except when the LCD monitor is closed or shut off, or the PC cable or AV cable is connected. (To adjust the Startup Sound, see p.118)

will appear in the display panel and a warning beep will sound if you turn on the camera with the lens cap on. If this occurs, remove the lens cap and turn the camera off and back on.

Be careful not to touch the lens when shooting. Please also refrain from forcing

the lens with fingers or other objects. It could lead to malfunctions or damage the

camera. If the camera will not focus orappears in the display panel and a warning beep sounds, turn the camera off and back on.
