Administration
OVERVIEW
The Storage Server administrator controls Storage Server usage by
creating and managing access-defined Users, Groups, and Shares.
NOTE:AppleShare does not support “Read-only “ access; access is always
“Read-Write.”
Users Each user is identified by their User Name and Password. The
Administrator can create Users, and also limit the amount of
disk storage available to a user.
Groups Users are organized into user Groups. A user can belong to many
Groups
Shares A "Share" is a folder on the Storage Server which users can
access. Only the Administrator can create Shares.Within a
Share, though, users can create folders and files.
Access
Rights Access to a share can be "Read-only" or "Read-Write". To
reduce administration workload, access to a Share is granted to a
User Group, rather than to individual users.
