Removing the Chassis from a Rack
ports on the fabric interconnect, the expansion modules are never used for direct chassis connections, they are used for uplink or SAN connections.

Removing the Chassis from a Rack
If you plan to remove a chassis from a UCS system and then from a rack you should first:
1Use Cisco UCS Manager to shut down the OS on all blade servers in the chassis. Graceful shutdown of a blade server is discussed in the “System Management“ section, “Managing Blade Servers” chapter of the Cisco UCS Manager configuration guide for your software release. The related CLI commands are as follows:
