PREPARATION

1. Thoroughlyinspectthe area where

2. Disengagealldutcheebeforestartingthe
engine(motor).
3. Do not operatethesnowthrower without
wearingadequatewinteroutergarments.
Wearfootwearthatwillimprovefootingon
stipperysurtaces.
4. Handle fuel withcare; it is highlyflam-
mable.

b. Neverrercovefueltankc,_poraddfual
toa runningengine(motor)orhoten-
gine(motor).
c. Fillfuel tank outdoorswith extreme
care.Neverfillfuel tankindoors.
d. Replacefuelcapsecurelyandwipeup
spilledfuel.
e. Neverstorefuelor snowthrower with
fuel in the tankinside of a building
wherefumesmayreachanopen11ame
orspark.
f. Checkfuelsupplybeforeeachuse,al-
lowingspaceforexpansionasthehoat
ofthe engine(motor)and/or suncan
causefueltoexpand.

OPERATION

openingatalltimes.
4. Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperating
on or crossinggravel drives, walks or
roads.Stay alert for hidden hazardsor
traffic.
5. Afterstrndngaforeign object,stoptheen-
gine (motor), removethe wire from the
spark plug, thoroughly inspect snow
throwerforany damage, and repairthe
damagebeforerestarl_and opera_g
thesnowthrower.
6. If the snowthrowershouldstarttovbrate
abnormally,stopthe engine(motor)and
checki'nmadietelyforthecause.VibralJon
isgenerallyawamingoftrouble.
7. Stop the engine (motor) wheneveryou
leavethe operatingposition,beforeun-
clogging_augerJimpellerhousingordis-
charge chute and when maldngany
repairs,ad}ustmants,or inspections.
8. When cleaning,repairing,or inspecting,
make certainthe auger/a_pellerand
movingpartshavestoppedandallcontrols
aredL_angaged.Disconnectthe sparkpSug
wireandImapthewireaway'B'omthe sperk
plugtopreventaccidentalstarting.
9. Takeallpossibleprece_onswhenleaving
thesnowthrowerunattended.Disengage
auger/impeller,stopengine(motor),
andremovekey.
10. Donotstertorrunanginehsncinsedarea,
evenif doorsor windows are open. Ex-
haustfumes are dangerous(containing
CARBON MONOXIDE, an ODORLESS
andDEADLYGAS).
11. Do not deer snowacross the face of
slopes.Exerciseex:l:mmecautionwhen
changhngdirectiononslopes.Do not at-
temptto clearsteepelopes.
12. Neveroperatethe snowthrower wlt_ut
properguards,platesorothersafetypro-
tectlvedevicesinplace.
