HOW TO REPLACE

THE AUGER SHEAR BOLT

The augers are secured to the auger
shaftw_ specialshear bolts. These
shear bolts are designedto break and
protectthe machine if an object be-
comeslodged inthe auger housing. Do
notuse a harder bolt asthe protection
providedby the shear boltwill be lost.
_lb ARNING: For safety and to
protect the machine, use
only original equipment
shear bolts.
To replace a broken shear bolt, proceed
as follows.Extra shear bolts were pro-
videdwith the unit.
1. Stop the engine. Disengage all con-
trois.
2. Disconnectthe spark plug wire.
Make sure all moving partshave
stopped.
3. Alignthe hole inthe auger withthe
holein the auger shaft.Install the
newshear pin and spacer. See
Figure45.
4. Connectthe spark plugwire.
