18 Replacing the Palm Rest
WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information
that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in "Before You Begin" on

Procedure
1Slide the display cable through the slot on the palm rest.
2Align the palm rest with the computer base and gently snap
the palm rest into place.
3Slide the hot-key board cable, power-button board cable, and touchpad cable into
the system-board connectors and press down on the connector latches to secure
the cables.
4Route the display cable through the routing guides on the palm rest.
5Connect the display cable to the system-board connector.
6Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base.
7Close the display and turn the computer over.
8Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base.
