WARNING: Do not operate your computer with any cover(s) (including computer
covers, bezels, filler brackets, front-panel inserts, etc.) removed.
CAUTION: Only a certified service technician should perform repairs on your
computer. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by
your warranty.

Removing the Top Cover

Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 13.

Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on
page 17).

Remove the front bezel (see "Removing the Front Bezel" on page27).

Remove the optical drive (see "Removing the Optical Drive" on page 50).

Pull the release tab, and slide the top cover towards the front of the
computer to release the top cover tabs from the slots on the top panel.

Pull the top cover away from the top panel.
