To more thoroughly check your computer or to catch failures that occur only occasion-
ally, select Run Specific Tests from the Diagnostics Menu and use the Options menu
to customize the testing. Refer to “Options” found later in this chapter for a descrip-
tion of the Options menu. To cycle tests, follow these steps:

When you select Run Specific Tests from the Diagnostics Menu, the main screen of
the diagnostics appears (see Figure 7-1). Information is presented in the fo llowin g five
areas:
The top of the screen lists the version number of the diagnostics.
The Available Test Groups area lists the diagnostic test groups in the order they
will run if you select All from the Run menu. Press the up- or down-arrow key to
highlight a test group.
The System Configuration area lists the computer’s currently detected hardware
and some of its relevant settings.
The menu area at the bottom of the screen lists options you can select and pro-
vides information about the option currently highlighted.
