Removing the Palm Rest Assembly

1.Follow the instructions in Before Working on Your Computer.

2.Close the display and turn the computer over.

3.Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see Removing the Bottom of the Base Assembly).

4.Remove the hard drive (see Removing the Hard Drive).

5.Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).

6.Remove the fan with the thermal-cooling assembly (see Removing the Processor Thermal-Cooling Assembly).

7.Remove the LED cover (see Removing the LED Cover)

8.Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard).

9.Remove the hinge covers (see Removing the Hinge Covers).

10.Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly).

11.Turn the computer over and remove the 10 M2.5 x 5-mm screws and one M2.5 x 8 screw.

1 M2.5 x 5 screws (10) 2 M2.5 x 8 screw

12.Turn the computer top-side up and remove the four M2.5 x 5-mm screws labeled "P".

13.Lift off the thermal plate.
