ELECTRIC FIREPLACE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Replacing Reflective Ribbons
If | reflective ribbons become damaged or loose they | may be | SCREWS & |

1. | Turn off all power to the appliance at the circuit breaker or fuse. | BRACKETS | |
2. | Locate defective ribbons; there are 3 strips mounted on the rear |

| cabinet and 3 mounted in the base. See Figure 39, page 17. |

3. | If the upper rear ribbons need replacing, remove the 4 | Phillips |

| screws holding the corresponding bottom and top | hanger |

4.Remove any loose or damaged ribbon material.
5.Cut an 18” strip of reflective ribbon and position the top end about an inch above the top bracket position. See Figure 40.
Note: The ribbon material should be applied with the reflective | BASE |

side up, should not be twisted or tangled and should hang slightly |

loose to allow free movement. If additional parts are required, see | COVER | CELLOPHANE |

6. Replace the top hanger bracket using 2 Phillips screws removed |
|
|
prior and tighten until the reflective ribbon is held in place. | Figure 40 - Replacing Reflective Ribbons |
7.Replace the bottom hanger bracket with the 2 remaining Phillips screws to secure the lower end of the reflective ribbon.
8.If replacing the reflective ribbons located in the base, remove the screws and washers at the damaged ends of the ribbon.
9Cut a 9 inch long strip of ribbon and apply across each ribbon support bracket with the shiny side facing up. See Figure 40.
10.Secure the ribbon to the brackets by replacing each washer at the end of the ribbon and rethreading the screws through the ribbon into each hole located on the support brackets.
11.If replacing the top, reflective ribbons on the base cover, cut a 3 inch section of ribbon and split down the middle. Then with the shiny side up, attach with cellophane tape onto the rear edge of
the base cover opening. See Figure 40.
12.Readjust the flame pennants (if removed). See Servicing Flame Pennants, page 17.
13.Reassemble the imager. See Accessing Imaging Unit, page 15.
14.Replace log set and lava rock, See Hearth Assembly, page 6.
