The Channel Banner
Any time you tune to a channel, the Channel Banner appears across the top of the screen, displaying info
on the channel and show you are currently watching:
1) Current date & t ime
2) DIRECTV Off-air Channe l – Channel logo, number a nd call letters of the station you’re
currently viewi ng.
3) Program Info – Program title, stop and start time and rat ing of the current program .
4) Info Panel – Displaye d when you press INFO on your remote. Contains the program description
and other information. Press SELECT on the More In fo button to see additional opt ions.
5) Current Favorites – Favorite Channels list cu rrently in use.
6) Audio options – A “fil led in” icon indicates alter nate audio options are avai lable. A “hollow” icon,
no alternate audio options a re available.
7) Messages – A “fi lled in” icon indicates new DI RECTV messa ges in Caller ID & Me ssages. A
“hollow” icon, there are no new or unread messag es.
8) Parental Cont rols – Parental Controls loc k status. ree icons: L ocked (“filled-in” lock icon),
unlocked (“hollow” unlocked icon) and temporar ily unlocked (“filled-in” loc ked icon).
9) Button Hint – Tells you that you can see the Mini Gu ide by pressing the BLUE key on t he remote.

Tune to these just as you would to any channel . You’ll see a special Cha nnel Banner that i nitially displ ays the channel
description (fo r example, “Real J azz,” “Nashvill e!”). As each song is p layed, its info will appear in the bann er, including
song title, art ist and record com pany.
