Problems related to the UA-1000

Can’t output/input soundIs the UA-1000’s external clock switch set correctly?

If the UA-1000’s external clock switch is blinking, the UA-1000 is not synchronized with the word clock from the external device or with the clock of the digital signal being input to the optical digital input connector.

In UA-1000 Control Panel, could MONITOR be turned OFF?

If MONITOR is turned OFF in the control panel, the audio output will be muted. Turn MONITOR ON in the UA- 1000 Control Panel.

Are the input/output settings of your software correct?

Check the audio input/output settings of the software you are using. (-> “Driver settings” (p. 23))

Can’t hear sound from the computer

Is it possible that the UA-1000’s Master volume has been placed at 0 (turned fully counterclockwise)?

Have you specified the audio and MIDI data output destination for your operating system?

You must specify the UA-1000 as the audio data output destination for your computer.For details on how to make this setting, refer to Settings and checking.

Are you running multiple applications?

If multiple applications are running simultaneously, an error message may appear. If this occurs, click [OK] and exit the other applications.

Even if an application window is closed, it is still running if it appears in the taskbar. Be sure to exit unneeded applications displayed.

Was the driver installed correctly?

In order for you to play back audio data via the UA-1000, the driver must be installed. For installation and settings, refer to “Installing the driver” (p. 18).

Is your computer in Suspend or Sleep mode?

If so, get your computer to resume normal operation, then exit all applications that are using the UA-1000. Next, turn the UA-1000’s power off, then switch it on again.

Did you plug-in or unplug the USB cable or turn the power of the UA-1000 off/on while an application was running?

Exit all applications that are using the UA-1000, and exit all applications that are using the UA-1000, and re- connect the UA-1000.

Are the faders of the Windows volume control raised?

Make settings so that Windows will give priority to background services, to ensure that audio and MIDI data are processed smoothly. Adjust the volume of the faders in the Windows volume control. Also make sure that the relevant fader is not muted.

To open the volume control, click the Windows start button and choose All Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Volume Control.
