note
If you use AOL or another e-mail program that is not supported, you can still scan a page or photo and attach it to an e-mail. Use Scan to Application, as described on page 79.
6.Under File Type, choose a file format for your scanned images.
■The JPEG standard format is a good choice for most images.
■If you want to e-mail a document that’s mainly text, choose Text, Rich Text Format, or HTML. The software will automatically perform OCR and convert the file into editable text. See page 65 for more information.
■Choose Presto! Wrapper to have your file open automatically in a “viewer” when the recipient clicks it (Windows only).
7.Click Apply to save your name and type choices, then click
Finish.
The software detects the e-mail programs on your computer, and lets you choose the one you want to use. The following programs are supported:
■Lotus® cc:Mail® 6.0
■Qualcomm® Eudora Pro® 3.0
■Netscape Mail™ 4.x
■MAPI-compliant mail systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook® 97
8. Select your e-mail program, then click Send E-mail.
