Operating problems
The problems you may have while using the scanner ofte n
involve the operation of your software and computer.
Operation problems usually occur because of:
❑Incorrect setup of the interface (see Chapter 1).
❑Inappropriate selection of the scanner functions (see your
software manual).
❑Incorrect setup of your computer or software (see C hapter
1 in this guide or the software manu al).
❑Incorrect operation of your software (see your software
manual).
Also see the documentation that came with your computer and
printer for possible solutions.
The OPERATE light does not come on.
Press the OPERATE button to turn on the scanner.
Make sure the power cable is correctly plugged into the
scanner and the power outlet.
The READY light does not come on.
Make sure the scanner is correctly connected to the compute r
and that the computer is turned on.
The scanner does not start sc anning.
Make sure that t he READY light is on.
