reading of the batt er y in the t able below and charg e t he battery for t he
recommended t im e int erval to bring the char ge up to a f ull char ge of 12. 6
volts or greater.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the negat ive batt er y cables are disconnect ed
and the batter y charg er used for charging the batt er y has an output of 16
volts and 7 amps or less to avoid damag ing the batter y (see char t below f or

and drive belts can create a fire hazard.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
♦ Clean all debris f r om around engine and drive belts
daily.
a) Stop engine, wait f or all m oving par t s t o st op, and remove key.
b) Clean all debris from r otating eng ine air intake screen and from ar ound
engine shrouding.
c) Clean all debris f r om around engine and drive belts.
d) For 27HP Kohler units : Swing out the fuel t ank and remove debris from
around the oil cooler posit ioned at right front cor ner of engine.
5.1.4 Check safety interlock system.
Service Interval: Daily
a) Check star t ing circuit. St arter should crank with, parking br ake engaged,
PTO disengaged and speed control lever in t he neut ral position. The
operator does not need t o be in the seat to start the engine.
Try to start with operator in seat, par king brake disengaged, PTO
disengaged and speed control lever in t he neutral position - st ar ter must
not crank.
