CAUTION
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Raising the m ower deck for service or maint enance
relying solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks could be
dangerous.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
The mechanical or hydraulic j acks may not be enough
support or m ay malfunction allowing the unit to fall,
which could cause injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
DO NOT rely solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks for
support. Use adequate jack stands or equivalent
support.
Adjust steering lever s:
a) Stop engine and wait for all moving parts to st op.
b) Pull the speed control lever completely back to the neutral position. The
two steering levers should be straight up and down (vertical). I f necessary,
adjust steering levers by changing t he length of the link between the speed
control lever and the cont r ol ar m on the end of t he st eering control shaft.

SPEED CONTROL LEVER ADJUSTMENT
Set neutra l:
a) Remove the electr ical connect ion from the seat safety switch, located direct ly
in fr ont of the seat switch assembly.
b) The neut r al adjustment must be made with the drive wheels turning . Raise the
fr am e and place on j ack stands so that dr ive wheels can rotate freely.
Temporarily install a jumper wire across the term inals in t he connect or of the
wiring harness.
c) Start t he engine.
d) Run the unit at least 5 minut es with the dr ive levers at full for ward speed to
bring hydraulic system oil up t o oper ating temper ature.
e) To obt ain t he neutral position, adj ust the left and r ight pump control rod
linkag es t hat connect the steering control to t he pump control arms until the
wheels stop, or creep slig ht ly in reverse.
f) Adjust the left pump linkage by rotating the tracking adjustment knob.
g) Adjust the right pump linkage by using a wrench to tur n t he double nuts on
the assembly. See Fig ur e 16.
