To adjust between A and A4 widths, you must also move the Paper Guide on the Paper Input Tray to the left or right for A and A4 size sheets.

To adjust between regular and long lengths of paper, you must make an adjustment in the printer driver setup (see Section 6, 7, or 9 for instructions on using your specific printer driver). Keep in mind the following information when selecting your paper size.

IMPORTANT NOTE

A-size (Letter) and A4-size paper have a non-printable area on the top of the sheet (or the right side of the sheet when printing in landscape mode) of 0.5Ó (12.7mm) and on the bottom of the sheet of approximately 1.20Ó (30.5mm). Remember this when sizing images in software application programs and when selecting media. If a full page of printing is desired, use A-long, A4-long, or Legal-size paper or transparency film with perfs.

Additional notes on paper size: PrimeraPro always ÒsizesÓ the paper automatically during the first part of the print cycle. This happens when the printer initially draws the paper in, pauses, and then feeds the sheet back out to print the first panel. Paper must fall within the tolerances noted in Table 4-1 below in order to be sized correctly by the printer. Otherwise, the sheet is ejected and the On Line light will blink rapidly to indicate an error.

Table 4.1 lists the maximum printable areas for the five different accepted paper lengths and the various types of media available for each page size. Make sure that the image youÕre sending to the printer falls within these printable areas. Otherwise, information at the bottom of the page could be missing!
