Making the dots four or five times larger, however, can make the bitmaps look ragged. The Better bitmap scaling option works by enlarging the size of the print enough for all 72-dpi bitmaps to be printed with an integer dot increase. If this option is selected, however, the image printed will be reduced in size by 4%.

Text Anti-Aliasing

This option is only available when printing with the photo-realistic ribbon type. When selected, this option will improve the quality of printed text when using scalable fonts (System 7 TrueType or Postscript Type 1 fonts with Adobe Type Manager).

Color Bitmap Smoothing

This option is also only available when printing with the photo-realistic ribbon type. When selected, this option will improve the appearance of lower resolution images. Image processing time will be increased when using this option. This option is rarely used and only useful for low resolution images (100 DPI or less).

32 bit QuickDraw

This option is available if the Macintosh has 32 bit QuickDraw installed (itÕs built in on some Macintosh models, or supplied as a separate file for others). Selecting this option increases the maximum number of colors the FARGO driver can print from 256 to 16.7 million. Most prints take longer to process when this option is selected.

Black text on black pass only

Select this option if you wish to print all gray scale text with the ribbonÕs black panel only. Normally, when printing gray scale or black text, PrimeraPro lays down all four of the ribbonÕs color panels. By laying down only the black panel, PrimeraPro is able to print black text with more sharpness and definition. Processing time may slightly increase when this option is selected.

Intensity

This control alters the lightness or darkness of the printed image. Use your mouse to slide the box along the intensity bar or to click on the left or right arrows to adjust the amount of heat used in the printing process.

Color matching

Click on the Color Matching box and select the appropriate color matching option. Select None if you are more interested in print speed rather than
