Saturation ColorsThe ends of the color palette used to display temperature extremes, for example., a temperature greater than the palette maximum temperature and/or a temperature lower than the palette minimum temperature.
SpanThe temperature range across which the color palette (temperature scale) is mapped.
TargetAn object being thermally photographed.
Temperature Scale – The temperatures represented by the color palette (palette temperatures).
Thermography – The use of infrared thermography whereby temperatures of a wide variety of targets can be measured remotely and without contact. This is accomplished by measuring the infrared energy radiating from the surface of the target and converting this measurement to an equivalent surface temperature.
Thermogram – An infrared image.
