■CD-ROM drive

If a CD-ROM cleaning disk sold separately is used for cleaning, the lens may not be clean. Do not use a CD-ROM cleaning disk.

■Intel® processor serial number

Each Intel® Pentium® III processor contains a serial number that can be read electrically. The processor serial number can be used for information management, resource management, and security improvement on the web.

The user can read the processor serial number using software. The software read function can be enabled or disabled using the BIOS Setup. The PC is shipped with this function disabled. To enabled the function, set "Processor serial number" in the main menu of the BIOS Setup to "Enable."

■Mouse with scroll function(wheel)

When a USB keyboard and a mouse (PS/2) with the scroll function are used under Windows 98/ 2000, connect the mouse connector on the USB keyboard. If the mouse is connected to the mouse connector on the PC, the mouse may not operate when Windows 98 is started in safe Mode.
