Interface

FIS Type -

Set to a value of 5Fh. Defines the rest of the FIS fields.

 

Defines the length of the FIS as five Dwords.

Cyl Low -

Holds the contents of the cylinder low register of the

 

Command Block.

Cyl Low (exp) -

Contains the contents of the expanded address field of the

 

Shadow Register Block.

Cyl High -

Holds the contents of the cylinder high register of the

 

Command Block.

Cyl High (exp) -

Contains the contents of the expanded address field of the

 

Shadow Register Block.

D -

Indicates whether host memory is being written or read by

 

the device.

 

1 = write (device to host), 0 = read (host to device).

Dev / Head -

Holds the contents of the device / head register of the

 

Command Block.

Dev / Head (exp) - Contains the contents of the expanded address field of the

 

Shadow Register Block.

E_Status -

Contains the new value of the status register of the task file

 

block for correct synchronization of data transfers to host.

Error -

Contains the new value of the Error register of the Command

 

Block at the conclusion of all subsequent Data to Device frames.

I -

Interrupt bit. This bit reflects the interrupt bit line of the device.

R -

Reserved (0)

Sector Count -

Holds the contents of the sector count register of the

 

Command Block.

Sector Count (exp) - Contains the contents of the expanded address field of the Shadow Register Block.

Sector Number - Holds the contents of the sector number register of the Command Block.

Sector Num (exp) - Contains the contents of the expanded address field of the

 

Shadow Register Block.

Status -

Contains the new value of the status register of the

 

Command Block at the conclusion of all subsequent PIO

 

Data to Device frames.

Transfer Count -

Holds the number of bytes to be transferred in the

 

subsequent data FIS.
