If you consistently use a setting on the front panel other than the default, you can establish that setting as the default. For example, you can change Lighter/Darker to a lighter setting. For details, refer to the “Setting Defaults” section later in
this chapter.

3To confirm your selection, press the Select/Resume button.

NOTE To reduce and enlarge 1% at a time, press and hold down the Reduce/Enlarge button, and then use the Plus (+) and Minus (–) buttons to change the Reduce/ Enlarge percentage.

The default setting is indicated by a black dot (●).

Make Copies Lighter or Darker

To adjust the lightness and darkness of copies, follow these steps:

1Press the Lighter/Darker button. The range of lightness/darkness values appears on a scale on the display.

2To make the copy darker, press the Plus (+) button. (The dot moves to the right.) To make the copy lighter, press the Minus (–) button. (The dot moves to the left.)

3To confirm your selection, press the Select/Resume button.
