The following table describes the general network settings shown on the network configuration page.

Status of the HP
•Ready: The HP
•Offline: The HP

•None: There is no network connection.

NOTE: You will need to know this URL when you try to access the Embedded Web Server.

NOTE: If you call HP support, depending on the problem, you might be asked to provide the firmware revision code.
The TCP/IP name assigned by the installation software to the device. By default, this is the letters HP followed by the last 6 digits of the Media Access Control (MAC) address.
Status of the administrator's password for the Embedded Web Server:
•Set: Password is specified. You must enter the password to make changes to the Embedded Web Server parameters.
•Not Set: No password is set. A password is not required for making changes to the Embedded Web Server parameters.
Some local and ad hoc networks do not use central DNS servers. They use a DNS alternative called mDNS.
