Removal and Replacement Procedures— Microtower (µT) Chassis

6.15Power Supply

ÅWARNING: Voltage is always present on the system board when the computer is plugged into an active AC outlet. To avoid possible personal injury and damage to the equipment the power cord should be disconnected from the computer and/or the AC outlet before opening the computer.

1.Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 6.1, “Preparation for Disassembly”).

2.Remove the right access panel (Section 6.2, “Access Panel”).

3.Disconnect all power cables from the mass storage devices and from the system board.

4.Remove the 4 screws 1 that secure the power supply to the chassis.

5.Slide the power supply toward the front of the computer 4, then lift it out of the computer.

To install the power supply, reverse the removal procedure.

It is easier to install the power supply if the chassis is turned upside down. This will give you better control when supporting the power supply in the chassis to install the first retaining screw.
