Your Windows® operating system now detects the devices in the RAID configuration with the upgraded software.

Defragmentation

The IO Accelerator does not need to be defragmented. However, some Windows® versions automatically run defragmentation as a scheduled task. If necessary, turn off automatic defragmentation.

Silent install option

Uninstalling the previous version

If you have a version of the HP IO Accelerator previously installed, you must uninstall it first. You must manually reboot the computer after installing the new version with the silent install option. This step must be performed prior to using any HP IO Accelerator utilities or functionality.

If you are installing remotely or with scripts, you can use the silent install option (/quiet) when you run the installation program in the command-line interface.

In the command-line interface, navigate to the folder that contains the .exe installer file, and then run the following command:

<installname>.exe /quiet

Where <installname>.exe is the name of the installer file.

This option installs the HP IO Accelerator using the default settings and eliminates the need to click Next or select settings during installation.

Installing components

The default command-line installation installs the HP IO Accelerator (including the command-line utilities) and the firmware file. You can add additional components using the following command:

<installname>.exe /quiet ADDLOCAL=SNMP,SDK,SMIS

Remove any component (and leading or trailing comma) that you do not want to install.

Performing a silent uninstall

You can silently uninstall the HP IO Accelerator with this command:

<installname>.exe /uninstall /quiet

Outdated firmware check

Checking by using the command-line interface

1.Run fio-statusand examine the output:

o If any device is in minimal mode, then the firmware is outdated.

o If the firmware listed for any device is a lower number than the latest firmware version as noted in the release notes, then the firmware is old, but not outdated.

2.If the firmware is old or outdated, update it using the fio-update-iodriveutility.
