Transformers and switchboards

The input power for the Critical IT Loads requires a source of 380-415V, 3phase wye power. If it does not already exist at the source, you might have to obtain custom transformers to derive this power. In addition to the overall loading and KVA size, you must consider the Harmonic Content of the installation when specifying the K-Factor of the transformers. Alternatively, you can use Harmonic Mitigating Transformers to passively cancel the harmonics generated by the IT equipment.

HP offers several power solutions that include automatic transfer switching, UPS backup, transformers and output distribution switchboards to supply your power needs.

On-site connections might include:

Main facility power to the primary side of the transformer

Transformer to the switchboard

Switchboard assembly to the HP POD 240e NA

For connection information, see the HP Site Preparation Drawing Package (on page 22).
