15Troubleshooting

Symptom: After you press , there is an off-hook tone. But after you pick up the handset, there is no off-hook tone.

Possible cause: The handset is not connected properly (applicable to the MC851).

Symptom: During a call, you cannot hear the other party.

zThe microphone of the other party may be turned off.

zThe volume of your speaker may be adjusted to 0. (For details, see "Setting Sound" on page 48.)

Symptom: During a video call, you cannot view the video of the other party or the other party cannot view your video.

zThe camera may be rotated to the bottom.

zThe environment is too dark.

Symptom: During a call, the other party cannot hear you.

zYour microphone may be turned off.

zThe volume of the speaker of the other party may be adjusted to 0. (For details, see "Adjusting the Volume of the Speaker During a Call" on page 24.)

Symptom: After the network is accessed through Wi-Fi, an icon indicating that the connection has failed appears in the status bar on the home screen.

zThe media phone may be out of range of the wireless signal. View the icon indicating the Wi-Fi signal strength in the status bar to see whether there is any signal.

zIf the Wi-Fi signal is strong, the possible cause may be that the Wi-Fi parameters are set incorrectly. Please check the network access parameters. (For details, see "Setting the Network" on page 49.)

Symptom: After the network is accessed through Wi-Fi, lagging, pausing, or erratic display of the video occurs during playing of IPTV videos.

zThe quality of the Wi-Fi signal may be poor. Check the AP setting or set Network type to Ethernet. (For details, see "Setting the Network" on page 49.)

zIf the preceding operation does not solve the problem, contact your service provider for help.

Symptom: The handset cannot be powered on.

zThe battery may be discharged or not installed properly. Check whether the battery is installed properly. If the handset still cannot be powered on, charge the handset on the base unit for a few minutes, and then remove the handset and
