Starting the Control Center

Start the Control Center in one of the following ways:

On OS/2

vEnter the db2cc command at a command prompt. or

vClick on the OS/2 Warp button and select DB2 for OS/2±>Control Center.

Note: You must have the prerequisite Java Runtime Environment (JRE) level to launch the Control Center using this command.

For more information, refer to the Control Center readme, which can be found in the x:\sqllib\cc\prime directory,

where x: is drive where you installed your DB2 product.

On Windows 9x or Windows NT

vEnter the db2cc command at a command prompt. or

vClick on Start and select Programs->DB2 for Windows->Control Center.

You can also run the Control Center as an applet through a web

browser. For more information, refer to the Control Center readme, which can be found in the x:\sqllib\cc\prime directory, where x: is

drive where you installed your DB2 product.

Entering Commands Using the Command Center

This section describes how to enter commands using the Command Center. The Command Center provides an interactive window to:

vRun SQL statements, DB2 commands, and operating system commands.

vSee the execution result of SQL statements and DB2 commands in a results window. You can scroll through the results and save the output to a ®le.

vSave a sequence of SQL statements and DB2 commands to a script ®le. You can then schedule the script to run as a job. When a saved script is modi®ed, all jobs dependent on the saved script inherit the new modi®ed behavior.

vRecall and run a script ®le.

vSee the execution plan and statistics associated with a SQL statement before execution. You do this by invoking Visual Explain in the interactive window.

vGet quick access to database administrative tools from the main tool bar.
