Tasks You Can Do with ACIF

This section describes the three tasks for which you can use ACIF. listed in the order in which they are described, not in any orde should be done.

Ÿ Converting data streams

ŸIndexing documents

ŸRetrieving resources

Converting Data Streams

ACIF processes the following input data streams to create a MO:DCA-P d

ŸAFP data

ŸMO:DCA-P data

Ÿ S/370 line-mode data

ŸLine-mode data

ŸMixed-mode data

ŸUnformatted ASCII (AIX only)

The following sections describe each type of data and refer you publications, if you need to better understand them:

AFP Data: The AFP data stream is a superset of the MO:DCA-P data stre supports the following objects:

ŸGraphics (GOCA)

Ÿ

Presentation

text

(PTOCA)

Ÿ

Image (IOCA

and

IM)

ŸBar-code (BCOCA)

The AFP data stream also supports print resources such as fonts, over segments, form definitions, and page definitions. For more information o stream format, referMixed toObject Document Content Architecture, Reference which points to publications describing the other types of data obj
