Beforereplacingparts:
Makesurethatallsoftwarexes,drivers,andUEFIBIOSdownloadsareinstalledbeforereplacingany
FRUslistedinthismanual.
Afterasystemboardisr eplaced,ensurethatthelatestUEFIBIOSisloadedt othesystemboardbefore
completingtheserviceaction.
Todownloadsoftwar exes,drivers,andUEFIBIOS,doasfollows:
1.Gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/support.
2.Ent ertheproductnumberofthecomputerorpressAuto-detectbuttononthescreen.
3.SelectDownloadsanddrivers.
4.F ollowthedirectionsonthescreenandinstallthenecessarysoftware.
UsethefollowingstrategytopreventunnecessaryexpenseforreplacingandservicingFRUs:
•IfyouareinstructedtoreplaceaFRUbutthereplacementdoesnotcorrecttheproblem,reinstall
theoriginalFRUbeforeyoucontinue.
•Somecomputershavebothaprocessorboardandasystemboard.Ifyouareinstructedtoreplaceeither
theprocessorboardorthesystemboard,andreplacingoneofthemdoesnotcorrectthepr oblem,
reinstallthatboard,andthenreplacetheotherone.
