Connecting the DPC-8.5—Continued

Controlling Components That Are Out of Range

Controlling Other Out-of-range Components

You can use the following multiroom kits to control the DPC-8.5 when it’s out of range of the remote controller:

Onkyo Multi-Room System (IR Remote Controller

Extension System)

Multiroom AV distribution and control systems such

as those made by Niles and Xantech.

For another component that is out of range of its remote controller, you can use a commercially available IR emitter to retransmit the remote controller signals received at the DPC-8.5’s IR IN, as shown below.

Controlling the DPC-8.5 When It’s Out of Range

If the DPC-8.5 is located in another room, installed in a cabinet, or is out of range of its remote controller, you can use a commercially available IR receiver to pick up the remote controller signals and feed them to the DPC-8.5, as shown below.
